Cultural Lifeways Workshops

Workshops offered periodically throughout each year will include but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Want to make your own regalia but haven’t touched a sewing machine in years? Completely new to sewing?Join this class for a basic course in running a sewing machine, using patterns, and understanding terminology.

  • Learn the basics of making a ribbon skirt or shirt and the importance of these items to our culture.

  • Go beyond the basics of making a ribbon skirt or shirt and learn how to add things like pockets and applique work.

  • You can’t have too many shawls. Join to learn how to make your own.

  • Learn the basics of applique beadwork in the woodlands Indians style.

  • Learn how to make basic pucker-toe moccasins.

  • Learn Native cooking from traditional recipes to survival foods like frybread.
